Blog Democracy!

In an effort to respond to my constituents' needs, I've created a blog at: http://www.deannesmith.blogspot.com. My electoral promises include but are not limited to the following:

1. I will update my blog regularly*.

2. My blog will be entertaining**.

3. My blog will set the basis for a more productive relationship between the municipal government and civil society, one based on co-determination, mutual understanding, partnerships and cooperation***.

*If you are reading this at work, "regularly" means that I will update the blog frequently enough for you to occasionally, but by no means always, be able to forget that you've sold out yourself, your artistic dreams, and perhaps even your soul by settling for the mind-numbing office job in which your biggest thrill is smuggling home a box of multicolored Post-It notes you won't use and don't need but whose presence in your foyer closet somehow makes you feel as though you are "sticking it" to "the Man," i.e., once or twice a week.

**Unless your idea of entertainment involves watching drugged cats stumble around other people's living rooms as they fight their way out of an anesthetic haze to discover that their reproductive organs have been removed. Check Youtube for that.

***This framework is known as "social co-responsibility" in Latin America and my blog actually won't do that at all.
